September, 2010 - Working with Mr. Whitfield1388 views"I hooked up with Ben through his agent. I had a chance in the winter time, we were getting some guys going in off season training, and Ben flew out to California to meet me and we had a chance to work out some. Once the circumstances hit I was unaware of the separation and the gulf that goes between a team and the suspended player. I didn't know he was going to be on his own until his agents called. They said, 'Hey, he's gonna be out there on his own, and he'd like you to come.' And I had a chance to talk to Ben and he said 'George I'm excited and I'm really looking forward to this opportunity. I've got to make the best out of this deal.' and I said 'I'm in.' I didn't really have a great grasp of what he was gonna be like and where he was, with everything that was going on. I just knew there was a task and really hoping that he'd be game for it, and he was." -- George Whitfield on 93.7 - The Fan, October 5, 2010.

"Boots"1387 views...and his human, Connie, send their Get Well wishes for Ben and Troy Polamalu. Troy has been nursing a bad calf most of the season, and Ben was injured in the November 12, 2012 game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He suffered a rib and a shoulder injury.
Boots wants them both back in the lineup!

Training Camp - August 5, 20101386 viewsHi Erin,
Words cannot describe how excited I am (still) to have attended the August 5th and 6th training camp sessions of the Pittsburgh Steelers. I have been a fan of the team since 1997 and a fan of Ben since 2004. At the camp, I was amazed to hear the loud cheers for Ben as he came out to practice, and to see so many fans wearing his jersey! The cheers lasted throughout practice as fans watched Ben closely run drills with his offense. He looked very fit and relaxed; he laughed and joked around with his teammates, especially Hines Ward!
Unfortunately, after practice, most of the players, including Ben, were carted off the field and I was unable to get an autograph. Hopefully next time I will get one!
This was my first Steelers training camp experience and it will certainly NOT be the last!! I cannot wait to see Ben and his teammates on August 21st at their pre-season game against the NY Giants at Meadowlands stadium.
Have a great year, Ben!! GO Steelers!! Go Ben!!
Sincerely,
Elli

January 29, 2012 - Pro Bowl Week1373 viewsBen poses with brothers Danny and John Trower.
"We met Ben at the 'Players Welcome Party' for the 2012 Pro Bowl at their hotel. I went up and introduced myself, told him I was in the Marine Corps, I gave him a coin and he was very cool. He is a great person and took the time out to talk to us. Very professional guy!! Not only did I get to go to this party, but I had field passes to the practices and the game and Big Ben was the biggest hit of them all. So many Steeler fans there, it was CRAZY! But he took the time to go and sign for them, even when the bus was about to take off, he stayed out there for a few more minutes, way too cool. Such an awesome guy, my brother and I were blown away!!" -- GySgt D.M. Trower

A Make-A-Wish Day to remember1370 viewsOne of the best moments of the day for Brandon was meeting his favorite player, Brett Keisel. He also posed for photos with Ben, Brett, Antonio Brown, Coach Tomlin, and smiled in several group shots with the Steelers defense!

Did you say Ravens?1368 viewsI chase them out of the yard!!
"Jeebus lives in Oakville, Ontario, Canada as Steeler Nation knows no borders. As innocent as he looks, he's been known to terrorize any Ravens that may cross his path while Bengals don't even take the chance of coming near him!" -- Scott Robichaud

1366 viewsFrom Roger:
I´m from Monterrey, Mexico. I´m Steelers fan since I was 9 years old, I played football in a team named "acereros", that means Steelers in Spanish. Now i´m 38, and here in Monterrey we have a group named "Regios de Acero" ("men & women of steel") - a Steelers fans group. Every year we make a trip to USA to see a game of our beloved team. Past year we made a trip to New Orleans on October 31st, and in February to Dallas SB XLV (without tickets, we made our tailgate nearest of the stadium, 1 block away and saw the game by TV). Now we scheduled our 2011 trip to see the Steelers at Arizona and Houston. My dream is to visit the Heinz Field and see my team playing at home, and I know that one day I will be there.

A new member of this Steelers family!1366 views"My sons and I adopted a Rottweiler/Hound mix on Christmas Eve. He had been hit by a car, has a fractured left front leg, had Lyme disease, and suffered from parasites. He was scheduled to be euthanized the Friday prior. He is stunningly beautiful. My sons and I had settled on 3 names - Bentley, Caesar, or Zeus. My kids picked Zeus and we named him officially after adopting him, Monday morning. That evening we saw the picture of you, Ashley, Ben Jr. and your very own "Zeus" Rottweiler. We had no idea that your Rotty is named Zeus.
"Our Zeus is now in a splint and on medication and rehabilitating very well. He'll be a very happy dog." -- Tim Allemong
