Ben's 2018 Veterans Day Salute 417 views...….is to Marine Corps veteran and Steelers fan Greg Yakubik (afterall, it IS the same weekend as the Marine Corps Birthday!):
“I joined the United States Marine Corps on November 7th, 1999 and was sent to Parris Island, South Carolina for basic training. After graduating from basic, I did infantry training in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. After my training, I was sent to Camp Pendleton, California for my permanent duty station where I spent 4 years. My unit was sent to Australia to do training with Australian forces, then on to Etajima Island Sasebo, Japan; Nagasaki and Okinawa, Japan. In 2003, my unit was sent into Iraq. We were the first unit to cross the border into Baghdad, which was on St Patrick’s Day. My unit took down Baghdad on April 11th.†-- Greg Yakubik.

August 24, 2018 - Ahoy Steeler Nation!416 views“Steeler Nation is alive and well in Charleston, SC. Loyal fans held their 7th Annual Steelers Cruise in the Charleston Harbor last Saturday. Proceeds from this event are given to our favorite local charity – Carolina Children’s Charity. The Charity was created by local volunteers committed to meeting the needs of local children with birth defects. Carolina Children’s has no state of federal affiliation and relies solely on the generosity of the community. What a great way to kick of another successful football season! Let’s Go Steelers!†— Ron Manz.
Ron, you guys are the best! Thank you for sharing this!

October 12, 2018: It's a Fan Friday!414 viewsGood golly Miss Polly is back!
Kathleen “Polly†Trump, a life-long resident of Connellsville, PA, will be 104 years old on Sunday – that’s right, Game Day!
Polly gets special treatment here on Ben’s website because, well, she’s Polly. And because we like to celebrate her birthdays every year right along with her!
According to her granddaughter, Karen, she is not only a “very long-time Steelers fan, but a BIG fan of Big Ben’s and everything that Pittsburgh represents!â€.
When this busy lady isn’t cheering on her beloved Big Ben and his teammates, she can be found exercising at Silver Sneakers three times a week!
Polly is dedicated to the Irish-Roman Catholic Church, and, “is the most amazing woman that I’ve ever known,†said her granddaughter.
Wishing you an absolutely wonderful birthday, Polly! God bless you and Go Steelers!! Go Polly!!

September 1, 2013 - Perfect Day at PNC411 viewsMatt “Rabbi†Rabinowitz and his family took a break from the summer heat of Fort Lauderdale, Florida to visit Pittsburgh over the Labor Day weekend to take in the FSU vs Pitt game.
While they were visiting, they decided to take in a Pirates game, and look who they ran into!
“Nicest man I ever met,†said Matt. “He’s the man! Great guy and an even better QB!â€
What did he think of Pittsburgh? “I really enjoyed the city, great atmosphere!â€
He enjoyed the FSU vs Pitt game too, his Seminoles beat the Panthers 41-13 on Monday, September 2nd. You could say that Matt experienced a perfect sports weekend in the Da Burgh.
*Thank you to both Matt and his sister, Melissa!
