The Dixon Family of #7's531 views"Our family has been Steelers fans as long as I can remember. My dad's side of the family is from Tyrone, PA. Its kind of funny to write about this because Ben and I are the same age and we both have sons really close in age too. Maverick was born a Steelers fan because the day after he was born, August 8, 2013, they played their first preseason game. We as the Dixon family try to install the #SteelerNation in our children's head from birth. Again, thank you for posting the pictures. It means a lot!!" -- Bryan, Kayla & Maverick Dixon.

Chase & Ashton530 views"Meet Ashton Drennon and his big brother Chase! This little Steelers fan was born April 23, 2010 with a tumor in his abdomen; he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a “rare†childhood cancer a few days later. He started chemotherapy at 2 weeks old! Within the first year of his life he endured 4 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 surgeries, several blood transfusions, numerous IV sedations, permanent hearing loss and MUCH, MUCH more; but in the end, he came out a SURVIVOR! Take that cancer! However, even going through all that, he is a lucky one. He has lost several friends in the last few years. We are always heartbroken to hear of another child being sent home to live their remaining days in the arms of their parents because there is nothing more that can be done; it happens WAY TOO OFTEN! Unfortunately, Childhood cancer is not as rare as you might think. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month; the same month that Ashton will celebrate 2 years CANCER FREE! We are so blessed to have our son still with us today. He and his brothers continue to amaze and entertain us every day! The boys can usually be found running around the house decked out in their Steeler gear or pretending to be Big Ben as they launch the football at each other! Ashton is super proud to show off his black and yellow hearing aids, especially during football season! GO STEELERS!" -- Brian Drennon

"My first Steelers game"530 views6-year old James DeSantis wanted to share the story of his exciting day at Heinz Field this past season with Ben and his other fans. He wanted it to be his story, with just a little help from mom and dad:
My favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers! I love watching the Steelers and Big Ben on TV, but I really wanted to go to Pittsburgh to see a game with my daddy. It seems like he gets to go all the time! So on August 24th we loaded up and daddy drove me from Ohio to Pittsburgh for the preseason game against the Chiefs. It was a long drive but I didn’t care!
Before the game my daddy took me to a store so I could get my own Steelers jersey. I had a few choices, but of course I picked #7! We went to a place called ‘Station Square’ where daddy took me on a boat and we rode across the river to Heinz Field. It was so big!!! My daddy found me a good spot to watch the game. We had fun watching the Steelers, and I cheered extra loud for Big Ben!!
I cheer for the Steelers to win every weekend, and sometimes I cry when they lose. I like the Steelers because they play good. Ben Roethlisberger is my favorite player because he is a great quarterback. I hope he gets to win another Super Bowl.
When I grow up I will play for the Steelers. I will be #19 and Big Ben will pass me the ball for a touchdown. Go Steelers!
From James’ mom, Mardee:
“James was born with a genetic disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). He is still walking and running, but has low stamina and uses a wheelchair or wagon when walking any long distance (like into the stadium). His latest accomplishment is that he figured out how to maneuver his body to be able to ‘punt’ his football. He is so proud of himself!â€
We’re proud of him too! Go James!!! And thank you for sharing your fun day with us!
