June 7, 2022 - Will the real #7 please stand up…752 views“Just an amazing and well worth it day. To meet and walk down the fairway with Big Ben, who was just an amazing guy. Dream come true for these 3 Members of #SteelersNation.
This picture of the 3 of us in Ben’s jersey is a special one. It has my uncle, who is like my dad. His name is Doug Van Dusen. My father passed away of a heart attack when I was 13, and Doug stepped right in as a mentor and father figure. Sadly he has been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer that has spread to his liver. Long story short, we have been long time die Hard Steeler fans, and especially Big Ben. Doug even named his (now rainbow bridge dog) Ben after him. This was a dream come true to be able to meet Ben and the day was magical.
The other doppelgänger of Ben, is my buddy Brian who is also my neighbour and long time Steeler (Ben) fan.Â
Being in Canada, I never thought we would have the chance to meet him and see him that close. The event was simply awesome and so entertaining. If you do speak to him, tell him I want his hat.
Once we found out Ben was coming, Doug and I hopped on tickets, then I told Brian about it and he was in. From that moment we had decided to wear his garb and be fitted with our Ben jerseys and terrible towels. Ben was so gracious in taking a photo with us and signing our stuff.
Lastly, I just want to thank him again for being so gracious and hope we put the Steelers Ottawa Chapter on the map in honouring him and his HOF career beside him. Thank you so much again and God Bless you all! Go Steelers and enjoy retirement Big Ben!!!†— Jamie Van Dusen.

From Monterrey, Mexico to the Steel City to catch a game!422 viewsThe Regios De Acero Steelers Fan Club traveled by bus from Mexico to Pittsburgh to see their beloved Steelers LIVE!
Regular readers are familiar with this hardy crew of Steelers fans who wear their love for their favorite team (and their favorite player) on their backs as part of their everyday attire!
Sure, they watch their Steelers at home in Mexico, and they’ve traveled to Kansas, Arizona, and to Dallas for Super Bowl XLV to see them play (they didn’t have tickets, but they did tailgate and watch the game on TV), but their dream was to see a Steelers game in THEIR home!
They finally made their own dream come true on December 15th!
From Roger Saucedo on their unforgettable trip:
The trip to Pittsburgh started on Thursday, December 12th at 7:00 am. A group of around 25 Steelers fans leave Monterrey to Pittsburgh. We pass the border by McAllen,Texas. The plan was go non-stop to Pittsburgh, just stop to buy food and gas for the bus.
We finally arrived in Pittsburgh on Friday, December 13th by 11:00pm which means we completed the trip from Monterrey to the Steel City in around 40 hours. Obviously all were tired but happy because we will be at the game at Heinz Field…and we arrived while it was snowing....

Ben in Switzerland, 20061294 viewsHi Erin,
I'm Remo from Switzerland and I'm a big Football fan.
Well American Football is not that popular in Switzerland like Soccer or Ice hockey. But anyway for me it's a great sport and I like to watch theme every Sunday. Like you know Big Ben has his roots in Switzerland . During his visit after winning the Super Bowl in 2006, I was lucky to met Ben at 'Lauperswil' and was able to talk to him and his father. He is a really nice guy and who knows, maybe one day he will come back to Switzerland or I will visit a game in Pittsburgh. Sorry my English isn’t that good but I hope you can use some of the pictures for your great website.
Greetings from Switzerland,
Remo

September, 2010 - Working with Mr. Whitfield1857 views"For myself, I've been training QB's out here in San Diego. I have Whitfield Athletix, with an X, and we have high school and college guys. Over the last couple years I have had some opportunities to work with some agencies to get guys ready for the draft, who came out to train with us. Last year we worked with Tony Pike who came in from Cincinatti, Rusty Smith from Florida Atlantic who is now with the Titans, Hunter Cantwell came out from Louisville, and now he's with the Baltimore Ravens. Had a chance to work some pro days and push these guys through. It's kind of similar. They're out there for three months...their football lives depended on how sharp they can show up to their workouts, and do they have their weaknesses knocked out. So I was used to this kind of setting, this kind of regimen. I know for Ben, for pro quarterbacks in season, they're not used to this type of work. But it went well, and I'm excited that he's excited." -- George Whitfield, on 93.7 - The Fan, October 5, 2010.

Black & Ghoul Halloween - 2014768 viewsHere's my grandson Mason as Ben this Halloween. This is also Mason's first Halloween without his daddy, Treaver. Treaver was my son who unfortunately was killed in a terrible car crash July 23, 2014 at the young age of 20 by his friend who was driving drunk and while trying to pass a truck on the right side of the road recklessly lost control and ended up in oncoming traffic. My son was killed on impact. Treaver and I had a great relationship with the Steelers and watched all the games together, we even made it to a few in Pittsburgh. I try to make it to at least 1 game a year, however it's bittersweet this year and I won't be able to make the trip this season. I will make it there next season where his ashes will be spread there at Heinz Field. Heinz Field is a very special place for me to remember the best times we were able to share with each other.
Treaver played football from the age of 4 all the way up to high school, and he dreamed of playing for the Steelers organization after playing for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Treaver got in a little trouble and had to go to boarding school in Glen Mills Pennsylvania to get back on track and decided he wanted to counsel young kids who were also going down the wrong path. He never made it past his first year of college when the accident happened. I miss my son more than anyone can ever imagine and I want to spread the word about drinking and driving so no more parents have to bury their children.
I am very gracious to have Mason to continue the Steelers tradition with, and will be taking him to plenty of games as he grows older. before my son's passing he picked out Mason's jersey and said he couldn't be anything but Ben this year because it would bring Ben luck, it did bring him luck...Andrew Luck where he had the game of his career last week. We have Baltimore this week (my husbands team) and Mason and I will be wearing our jerseys so hopefully we bring you luck, and you can give me a win to shut my husbands mouth. Thank you for the opportunity to share a little about our story.
GO STEELERS !!!!!!!!!

Steelers Carolina Cruise for Charity579 views“Few cities support the Steelers like they do in Charleston, SC. The 6th Annual Steeler Cruise was held this past weekend and the Black and Gold fans were out in full force. This annual event benefits the Carolina Children’s Charity and sells out every year.†— Ron Manz.
