Veterans Day Weekend - 20121648 viewsI fly the AH-64D Longbow Apache Attack helicopter. The Terrible Towel went with me on every mission I flew during my 12-month tour. This was taken in Afghanistan in July 2011. I still take the Towel with me on every flight, even here in the States. It has accumulated over 450 combat flight hours and about 700 total flight hours. -- CW2 Jeffrey Jones

Chase & Ashton530 views"Meet Ashton Drennon and his big brother Chase! This little Steelers fan was born April 23, 2010 with a tumor in his abdomen; he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a “rare†childhood cancer a few days later. He started chemotherapy at 2 weeks old! Within the first year of his life he endured 4 rounds of chemotherapy, 2 surgeries, several blood transfusions, numerous IV sedations, permanent hearing loss and MUCH, MUCH more; but in the end, he came out a SURVIVOR! Take that cancer! However, even going through all that, he is a lucky one. He has lost several friends in the last few years. We are always heartbroken to hear of another child being sent home to live their remaining days in the arms of their parents because there is nothing more that can be done; it happens WAY TOO OFTEN! Unfortunately, Childhood cancer is not as rare as you might think. September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month; the same month that Ashton will celebrate 2 years CANCER FREE! We are so blessed to have our son still with us today. He and his brothers continue to amaze and entertain us every day! The boys can usually be found running around the house decked out in their Steeler gear or pretending to be Big Ben as they launch the football at each other! Ashton is super proud to show off his black and yellow hearing aids, especially during football season! GO STEELERS!" -- Brian Drennon

June 3, 2018 - "Thank you Ben!"446 views“My friend Jim and I were at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex for the Pens practice in May. We were standing in the parking lot talking and a gentleman approached us and stated that Ben was here, working out in the upstairs gym. We went inside and checked it out. Jim and I were both lucky to have something on us at the time for Ben to sign if we found him.
Ben walked out towards the exit and he was on the phone, I approached him and asked if he would mind signing my jersey and my friends photo. He signed both items for us! He could have kept on walking but he was nice enough to stop. We were both in complete disbelief that we actually got the chance to see Ben, let alone have him sign an autograph!!
Ben, I just wanted to personally thank you for stopping and signing my jersey and my friends photo yesterday. We both appreciate it, wishing you the best this season and into the future!†— Mike Slagle.

Remembering Rocco 1059 views"The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation started when a police K-9 was shot and killed where I grew up, in Findlay, OH. My family and I were moved by what that dog meant to the police force, and learned that similar K-9′s all over the country are helping to keep our communities safe. This last week, a K-9 officer named Rocco was killed in my current hometown of Pittsburgh. After talking with officer Phil Lerza and getting his blessing, the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation would like to announce that we are going to get Officer Lerza a new dog. Rocco can never be replaced, but we only hope to help with the healing process and to provide Officer Lerza with another loyal partner." -- Ben, February 10, 2014
