May 4, 2013 - Sports Vault Shop at King of Prussia Mall1692 viewsWe just got to the car from Ben's signing today. So I thought I'd send a few photos along with our appreciation for Ben's time. Let's be honest, he doesn't NEED to do these type of events. We as fans are fortunate for the opportunities. We got to the event early as we knew it would be organized chaos. The photo op was first. We had heard they sold all 100 photo ops. WOW! I've never seen that many sold at any event....not in the 11 years I've been going anyway.
Bryce decided he wanted it taken with his game worn cleat that he won in the monthly birthday drawing contest from this site. Coincidentally from our very first game in Pittsburgh. When Bryce walked up to get his photo taken with Ben, Ben asked "did you steal my shoe"? He's so great to these kids. He could just be there to sign our items, but he does a great job interacting with not just the kids, but adults too.
We got so much attention walking around with this cleat.....another piece of Ben giving back. How many players do you see do this on a monthly basis? I'm so jealous of Bryce, lol. This cleat is more amazing than any piece I have in my collection. As the evidence shows. It was a perfect day......Thanks Ben. -- Steve Bishop, NY

2012 Ben Roethlisberger Football Camp1137 views “We just got back from Ben’s camp in Harmony, PA. It was truly amazing! Still in awe right now, actually. I just can’t believe someone of Ben’s fame or standing was so attentive. He never seemed to take a break and was always on the field. Then throwing 487 passes so EVERY kid had the opportunity to catch one from him? I doubt anyone else does that. I was fortunate enough that not only did Bryce catch his pass, but I was able to catch the entire thing on video. Something he, WE, will always look back on as a great memory.
“But I have to say that the one thing that impressed me the most was about someone else’s kid. It was one of the younger kids who seemed to be having a difficult time emotionally. Don’t know what was wrong, but he would not get off the ground. He wasn’t hurt. It was Ben who picked him up and walked him over to the sideline, got him a drink of water, and sat there and talked with this kid for several minutes. Not because any cameras were around, but because he seemed genuinely concerned. The graciousness not only came from Ben, but his sister as well. Carlee was there to help out some of the kids with putting pinnies on. But she was more than accommodating taking a picture with me when I asked her.
“We are getting spoiled here lately. First, Ben’s show in Virginia back in April. Now this……..I just can’t say enough about how amazing Ben is. Not just as a football player, but as a human being. His soon-to-be-born son will be one lucky kid.†– Steve Bishop, NY
