Steeler Nation Down Under454 views"Let the boys know that Yinzers around the world are wearing the Black and Gold, twirling our terrible towels and spreading the Good Word of The Son (Coach Mike Tomlin,) The Spirit (Sir Dick LeBeau) and The Wholy Ghost (Art Rooney.) Australians wonder why football players wear pads and I say two words, "Troy Polamalu." Needless to say, Steeler Nation is in every corner of this blue marble.
"Great Win! Keep it going. More importantly, congratulations on the birth of your new joy, Benny Jr. If you come to Darwin I will show you crocodiles. Not many Pittsburgh born and bred Yinzers have seen them and I know you are from Ohio. Enjoy, the picture. Its my wife and me at Uluruu in the Red Centre. And yes, that is a Barry Foster jersey. I try to rock it on the fan website but its never there...but it is always on me half way around the world when the Black and Gold take the field. Tell Shaun "South Side" Suisham hell of a win.
"Here we go Steelers, here we go!"

The Guthrie Family449 views"My family at the Steelers/Cardinals game here at the University of Phoenix Stadium in week 7 of 2011. I brought my mom Myrtle Evans, my sister Erika Schaltenbrand, brother-in-law Dale Schaltenbrand, and their son Joey Schaltenbrand down from the 'Burgh, and Rajan and I took them to the game. It was like a home game; I'm sure there were more Steelers' fans than Cards' fans at the stadium that day! It was one of the best days, maybe THE best day we've all ever spent together." -- Richard GuthrieNov 02, 2012

#7's all in a row!!!844 views"Left to right in the photo is my fiancee, Kristin Nugent, followed by Mike Durcho, Jason Keim, and me...and of course our dog Daisy. This photo was taken the opening game of the season against Denver. We were doin' a little pre-gaming when we all noticed we had Ben jerseys on, and each one was different. Ben's Away, Throwback, Real Tree, and his college jersey. Of course we're all life-long Steeler fans from Johnstown, PA and we're all huge Ben fans.
"For myself, I've been waiting what seems like my whole life, for a quarterback as good as Big Ben. His toughness, leadership, and all around ability to lead the Steelers to victory is what makes Ben an easy favorite. Everyone in this photo says the same thing, when Ben is at the helm, it seem like we can't lose. We know as long as he's in the game, the Steelers got a shot to win. We are all proud members of Steeler nation, and proud fans of Ben Roethlisberger. "

In memory of Grant Seward544 viewsAt age 22 my son Grant (wearing Ben's jersey) was the biggest fan that Ben and the Steelers could ever have! On Nov 2, 2011 he died.
In his short life he had converted many northern KY families from Bengals to Steelers fans. He would drive hundreds of miles to be in Heinz Field on game day and even to the Superbowl. He loved the Steelers more than anything. He had the Steelers emblem tattooed on his upper arm, banners on the house, Steelers lounge chair, Steelers jerseys, jackets, t-shirts, pants, sheets, pillows, truck emblems, steering wheel and hitch cover, and on and on. It was who he was.
His dream was for me to attend a game at Heinz Field which we had planned to do this year in December against the Bengals. My work schedule had prevented me from attending in the past even though I had wanted to very much. Last night the Steelers played the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium. Me and my girls went in our Steelers gear in memory of their brother Grant.
Just wanted to thank Ben and the Steelers team for that awesome win. It was such a tribute to my son who I know was there in spirit with a big smile on his face.

The Guthrie Men!496 viewsThese are our sons Rajan, 6, and Shalin, 2. Rajan was actually born in the 'Burgh, then we moved out here when I was stationed at Luke Air Force Base. Shalin has inherited all of Rajan's old jerseys and hats, and Rajan (and I) get new ones periodically. I could also send you another pic, my Twitter profile pic, which was taken 30, 000 feet above Lake Tahoe in my F-16 when my squadron was in the way to Oregon for an exercise in 2008 when the Steelers beat the Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII. Please give Ben our best, and let's go Steelers!!!
Best of luck to Ben and the Black and Gold for continued success. Obviously he (and they) have been a big influence for us and the whole Steeler Nation, which has a proud following here in Phoenix. GO STEELERS!
Best regards,
Richard GuthrieOct 30, 2012
